Poise Events & Conferences have teamed up with Envibe to promote the reduction of the events industry’s carbon footprint

Poise Events and Conferences is working with Evibe at this year’s international CONFEX event to show how green they are, by demonstrating to their clients their environmentally aware practices and offering advice to other exhibitors.

To lower their own carbon footprint Poise Events & Conferences recycle internally as well as externally. They have implemented separate disposal bins for paper, card, plastic, metal and glass which are clearly labelled in their office. They ensure debris from their events and catering refuse are disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.  They also work with printers who strive to ensure that their printing material come from managed sources or recycled stock.

The Managing Director said “We have collaborated with Envibe to actively promote the importance of becoming more environmentally conscious within the industry.  Large amounts of debris are produced everyday at events, from brochures and booklets at exhibitions to place cards at gala dinners.  We have a responsibility for the way in which disposal takes place.  Who can say, hand on heart, that they are confident that debris from their event has been disposed of in an ethical manner?…..We are proud to say we put the effort in”
 
She continued “as an events agency in the current climate, I believe we have a duty to be as ethically responsible as we can.  Wherever possible, we endeavour to use products that are organic and locally sourced.  Coffee, sugar and cocoa products are purchased through Fair Trade suppliers”.
